Southern Railway invites online applications from eligible Indian citizens who are outstanding sports persons for recruitment to posts in Pay Matrix Level-1 to Level-5 of the 7th Central Pay Commission (CPC) under the Sports Quota (Open Advertisement) for the year 2025-26. Selection Process
- Eligible candidates are called for trials to assess sports performance and suitability.
- Candidates must score at least 25 out of 40 marks in trials to be considered further.
- Final selection is based on three components: game skill, physical fitness and coach’s observation during trials (40 marks); recognized sports achievements (50 marks); and educational qualifications (10 marks), totaling 100 marks.
- The minimum qualifying marks are also dependent on the level: Level-4/5: 70 marks, Level-2/3: 65 marks, Level-1: 60 marks.
- During trials, the candidates are required to carry all original documents to be verified.
How to Apply for Southern Railway Recruitment 2025
- Go to the RRCMAS official site: https://rrcmas.in.
- Go to the Open Market Recruitment.
- When you get the notification RRC-02/Sports/2025-26, you can get to the appropriate advertisement by clicking on it.
- Take the application form attached to the notification.
- Complete the application form using capital letters and all the fields should be filled correctly.
- Paste a current photo of a passport size on the prescribed area on the application form.
- Sign the application form by using your right hand and apply the Left Thumb Impression (LTI) in the designated section.
- Provide self-attested copies of Date of Birth proof (Birth Certificate or School Leaving Certificate), Educational qualification certificate, Community certificate (where applicable), Disability certificates (where applicable), Ex-Servicemen certificate (where applicable), EWS certificate (where applicable) and No Objection certificate (NOC) of the current employer (where applicable).
- Sign a Demand Draft (DD) of Rs. 100 to the order of The Assistant Personnel Officer / Recruitment, RRC, Chennai – 600 008, payable at Chennai, unless he/she is not required to pay a fee.
- Enclose the application form along with all the enclosures in an envelope.
- Super-scribe the envelope with “APPLICATION to recruitment to posts in PAY BAND-1 with grade pay of Rs. 1,800/- in Southern Railway and ICF.
- Mail the envelope through the regular post to The Assistant Personnel Officer/ Recruitment, Railway Recruitment Cell, Southern Railway, No.5, 3rd Floor, Dr. P.V. Cherian Crescent Road, Egmore, Chennai-600 008.
- Alternatively, you can drop the application in the box that is stored at the RRC office.
- See to it that the application is received by RRC, Chennai, prior to the date of closing as indicated in the notification.
