Gujarat Subordinate Service Selection Board (GSSSB) is an administrative organization established under the constitution that is responsible for recruiting competent staff to different Class-3 administrative and technical cadres of the government in Gujarat. • Planning, technical supervision and implementation of city infrastructural works such as roads, drainage, water supply system and public housing projects.
• Technical scrutiny of plans, structures and proposals for construction from contractors in accordance with urban planning codes.
• Conforming to the state civil construction regulations and submitting project performance data to the Commissionerate of Municipalities Administration.

Salary Breakdown

• First 5 Years (Fixed Salary): Fixed salary of Rs. 49,600/- per month.
• Pay Scale (Level-7): After serving 5 years successfully, the candidate turns into a regular candidate and will be on Pay Matrix Level-7 i.e. Rs. 39,900 to Rs. 1,26,600/-.
• Allowances: The candidate will have the benefits that are enjoyed by the government employees including Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), Medical Allowance and pension benefits as per the regulations of the Gujarat state government.

Recruitment Procedure for GSSSB Municipal Engineer Recruitment 2026

• Exam Pattern: One-time competitive exam to be taken through Computer Based Response Test (CBRT) or Optical Mark Recognition (OMR) test in order to fill all Gujarat Municipal Engineer vacancies among popular Gujarat Government Jobs.
• Marks and Duration: Total 210 Marks; Duration: 3 Hours (180 minutes).
• Scheme of Examination in Part-A: Reasoning and Data Interpretation (30 Marks), Quantitative Aptitude (30 Marks), Constitution of India, Current Affairs, Gujarati and English Comprehension (30 Marks).
• Scheme of Examination in Part-B: Subject Knowledge of Technical Aspect of Civil Engineering (120 Marks).

• Upload a new passport size photo (5 cm X 3.6 cm, Max Size 15 KB, white background, within one year old) and signature (2.5 cm x 7.5 cm, Max Size 15 KB) in JPG format.
• Verify all the filled information and submit the form by clicking on “Confirm Application” option to get the Confirmation Number.
