Applications have been released by Airports Authority of India (AAI) for the Western Region Apprentice Recruitment 2026-27 to train the eligible graduates and diploma holders. The applicants who are eligible and living in Maharashtra, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and the union territory of Diu can apply online via the NATS portal. A year-long apprentice course gives hands-on experience and professional training in several airports operating under the Western Region head office. It is an excellent chance for Degree and Diploma holders to get hands-on industry experience in the aviation field through the Airports Authority of India Recruitment Process. Overview of Airports Authority of India (AAI)

Airports Authority of India is a Schedule “A” Mini Ratna Category-1 Public Sector Undertaking of Government of India. It is responsible for the development, expansion, upkeep and management of civil aviation infrastructure facilities in the country. The AAI is in charge of the ground and airside facilities at various airports. Regional Headquarters of the Western Region is in Mumbai, which is responsible for managing the airport facilities in Maharashtra, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and Diu and providing AAI Mumbai Apprentice Training 2026-27 openings to locals.

Job Profile

  • Apprentices recruited for the program will receive organized one-year training at several airports in the Western Region
  • The apprentices will be trained by experts in their respective fields to get hands-on experience in airport activities
  • Technical apprentices will assist in supervising projects, maintenance of equipment and other activities at Mumbai Airport and other airports in the region
  • Financial apprentices will help in maintaining accounts and finance-related activities and Human Resources apprentices will assist in managing personnel
  • This program aims at linking academic learning with industry needs

Age Limitations (as on July 31, 2026)

  • Minimum Age: 18 years
  • Maximum Age: 26 years
  • Age Relaxation for SC/ST: 5 years
  • Age Relaxation for OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): 3 years
  • Upper age relaxation: Relaxation in upper age is permissible for candidates who belong to reserved categories as per Government guidelines.
  • Remark: In case of unavailability of candidates belonging to reserved categories, these vacancies can be filled up by candidates from other reserved categories or general category.

Qualification Requirements for AAI Apprentice Recruitment 2026

  • Full-time regular four-year Degree in Engineering/Technology or full-time regular
    Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Business Administration or relevant stream from
    an AICTE-recognized institution.
Qualification (Diploma)
  • Full-time regular three-year Diploma in Engineering/Technology in relevant trade
    from an AICTE-recognized institution.
Minimum Marks
  • 50% aggregate (45% for SC/ST candidates)
CGPA Conversion
  • Candidates with CGPA/CGPI/CPI/SGPA must convert marks to percentage as per
    university/institute guidelines.
Qualifying Exam Pass Date
  • On or after April 1, 2022 (not more than five years from date of joining).
Awaiting Results
  • Final year students awaiting results may apply subject to production of qualifying
    certificate.
Domicile Requirement
  • Must be domiciled in Maharashtra, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh or UT of Diu.
Prior Apprenticeship
  • Candidates who have already completed or terminated apprenticeship or are
    currently pursuing apprenticeship elsewhere, are ineligible.
Work Experience
  • Candidates with one year or more of work experience after obtaining essential
    qualifications are ineligible.

Remuneration Details

  • Graduate Apprentice Stipend: Rs. 15,000/- per month (Rs. 8,850/- from establishment + Rs. 6,150/- government share via DBT)
  • AAI Graduate Diploma Apprentice Stipend: Diploma trainees will receive Rs. 12,000/- per month (Rs. 6,550/- from establishment + Rs. 5,450/- government share via DBT)
  • Payment Mode: Credit of government share directly to apprentice’s registered bank account through direct benefit transfer.

Hiring Procedure for AAI Apprentice Recruitment 2026

  • Primary Selection Criteria: In case of AAI, the percentage of marks secured in the qualifying examination will be the primary criterion for the selection process.
  • Short Listing: The candidates will be considered for short listing on the basis of merit in interview and documentation process. Eligible candidates from the Government Jobs in Gujarat areas may also apply according to the mentioned eligibility criteria.
  • BOAT NATS AAI Online Application Procedure: Only those candidates, who register and verify their documentation on the NATS website, will be considered for the next process of selection.
  • Interview Process: AAI will send an invitation to shortlisted candidates via their registered e-mail for certificate/testimonial verification.
  • Medical Fitness: All selected candidates should furnish a certificate of medical fitness from a Gazetted Government Medical Officer or a Medical Officer of a Government Undertaking at the time of joining.
  • Police Verification: Candidates should furnish a certificate of police verification from their residing areas.
  • Final Selection: AAI will make final selection of the candidates after verifying all the documents and meeting the eligibility criteria of the candidates.

FAQs

The applicants for AAI Apprentice Recruitment 2026 must have either degree or diploma from any recognized institute. It is necessary to fulfill all the age criteria and other eligibility criteria mentioned in the official notification. The only candidates who have cleared the qualification exam from April 01, 2022 onwards are eligible for the post.

Applicants are required to register themselves at the NATS 2.0 portal and complete the process of verification of their profile. Once the applicant gets registered on the portal, then the notice for the AAI apprenticeship will come to them and they can apply through that portal.

Rs. 15,000/- will be paid per month to Graduate Apprentices and Rs. 12,000/- per month to Diploma Apprentices. Duration of apprenticeship training will be one year and it will be held at the specified AAI training institutes.
