Upper Age Boundaries for Applicants
- Broad Specialties: Maximum 45 years
- Anatomy, Biochemistry and Physiology: Maximum 50 years
- Date of Reference: Age is calculated as of the date of interview

Monthly Earnings and Benefits
- Consolidated Remuneration: Rs. 1,50,294/- per month
- Transport Allowance: Payable along with DA on transport allowance as per rules
- Non Medical Candidates: Non Practicing Allowance is deducted from the consolidated pay
- Revisions: Pay revisions are based on the directives of ESIC Headquarter on revision of DA rate
- Accommodation: Quarters are allotted as per availability and no HRA is payable if quarter is allotted
Fee Rules and Payment Method
- SC, ST, PwD, Women and Ex-Servicemen: Nil
- For All Others: Rs. 500/-
- Mode of Payment: Demand Draft favoring ESI Fund Account No.1 drawn on a schedule bank and payable at Kolkata
- Place of submission: Submit the draft together with the application during document verification.

- Refund of Fee: Fee once paid cannot be refunded under any condition and other mode of payment will be not accepted
Shortlisting and Interview Process for ESIC Medical College Kolkata Recruitment 2026
- Walk-in procedure: Qualified Doctors first come for document verification and then for the Interview on a fixed date.
- Screening Test: If more than ten candidates are applying for one post, screening test consisting of multiple choice questions on the subject can be conducted.
- Weightage of Screening Marks: Weightage of screening test marks does not matter in final selection.
- Criterion of Selection: Only criterion of selection for each post is performance in the interview.

Contract Terms Every Candidate Should Know
- Engagement: One year, renewable up to three years on the basis of satisfactory performance.
- Termination: Either party may terminate the engagement by giving one month’s notice or by paying a month’s salary in lieu of the same, by the resident.
- Security Deposit: Rs. 32,000/- to be made by way of DD at the time of joining, refundable on completion of service and submission of no dues certificate but forfeited in case of early termination by the resident.
- Private Practice: The Senior Residents shall not indulge in any form of private practice under this Latest Government Jobs in India recruitment drive.
- Travel Allowance: ESIC shall not give any TA/DA towards joining or any other purpose.
- Work Hours: Senior Residents are supposed to manage emergency duty and night shift on a rotating basis as per instructions from the Dean/Medical Superintendent.

For the non-clinical departments, call letter date is set to November 3, 2026. For the clinical departments and the super specialty post of Paediatric Surgery, it is November 4, 2026. Candidates need to report from 9:30 am to 10:30 am at Academic Block, 2nd Floor, Joka. Those coming after 10:30 am would not be verified.
The candidates have to possess an MD/MS or DNB in the relevant specialty with proper registration from NMC or State Medical Council. Those who seek super specialty must possess DM/MCh or DNB. The maximum permissible age of the candidates is 45 years, whereas for those seeking posts of anatomy, biochemistry and physiology, it is 50 years.
