Stages of the Selection Journey for MPHC Recruitment 2026
- The selection itself comprises two sections, an online test for 100 marks and the shorthand skill test for 100 marks.
- There are 100 MCQs in the preliminary test, each carrying one mark with 120 minutes required to answer all the questions from General Knowledge, Maths and Reasoning, General Hindi, English and Computer Knowledge and a total of 20 questions are asked from each of these sections in the preliminary test.
- The preliminary test is just a screening test and does not count towards the final score.
- All the candidates scoring at the cut-off scores are considered in the same ratio of selection, i.e. 1:5 in all categories.
- The candidates who make the cut for the interview, submit their application and required documents and pay the skill test portal charge of Rs. 743.40/-.
- The skill test has a 400-word dictation in 5 minutes and 30 minutes of computer transcription with each error costing 0.50 marks and Hindi typing in Remington Gail. The merit lists will be drawn post wise and allotment of districts will be done by counselling and successful candidates will be offered Government Jobs in MP.
- The candidate who gets 55% (General, OBC), 49.5% (EWS), 45% (SC), 40% (ST, PwD) marks is considered and then checked for documents, background and medical fitness.

The notification states that 418 posts are available in all. Out of them, 69 are for Stenographer Grade II, 299 for Stenographer Grade III, 20 for Stenographer Grade III (Court Manager Staff) and 30 for Assistant Grade III(English Knowing)Posts.
To apply candidates must possess graduation degree, CPCT score card, a one year computer diploma and shorthand speed. The specs for shorthand at Hindi language are. Stenographer Grade II- 100 WPM. Grade III and Court Manager Staff- 80 WPM.
The last date is October 27, 2026 till 5:00 P.M. For unreserved and out of state candidates the fee is Rs. 943.40/-, for MP OBC, SC, ST, EWS and all PwD candidates the fee is Rs. 743.40/-. The fee is non-refundable.
Selection is there in the form of online pre test of 100 marks for screening only and shorthand skill test of 100 marks, Merit in the final selection is arrived at on the basis of the skill test and thereafter document verification, medical fitness and C.L.M. for the district allotment.
