Hiring Stages for Punjab SSSB Recruitment 2026
- The Board administers a written test of multiple-choice questions, which is broken into two parts.
- The Matriculation level course is purely of a qualifying nature in the Punjabi language to appear under Part A and candidates must secure at least 50 per cent of the marks in order to pass this paper.
- The merit list is based on the marks obtained in Part B and each question is of one mark, the Board deducts ¼ mark for every incorrect answer.
- The candidates who have applied for clerk and Translator posts are also required to take a typing test at a speed of thirty words per minute in English and Punjabi; this test is conducted on computer in Raavi font (Unicode compliant) for Punjabi.
- The typing test is still qualifying – it does not contribute to the merit ranking.
- In case of a tie in merit the Board gives preference to the candidate who has a birth date earlier, then the percentage scored on the qualifying educational degree and lastly the Matriculation marks.
