Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) is one of the top-notch Border guarding Units of the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), Government of India. Age Limitations
- For UR and OBC candidates: Below 35 years as on January 1, 2026
- For SC/ST candidates: Below 40 years (5 years relaxation)

- Pay Scale: Constable (General Duty) grade in accordance with the SSB norms and all the allowances and benefits as applicable according to Government of India rules.

Recruitment Procedure for SSB Constable Recruitment 2026
- The candidates who qualify PST will appear for Physical Efficiency Test (PET) that is a qualifying test.
- The candidates who are shortlisted will appear for the Written Examination with a 100 marks objective questions.
- Successful candidates in written exam will go through Documentation Verification and Detailed Medical Examination (DME).
- For those who are declared unfit by DME, all candidates will be subject to Review Medical Examination (RME).
- Final selection will be based only on marks obtained in the Written Examination for these Assam Government Jobs.

Application Procedure

- In Recruitment section, click on the “Advertisement for the post of Constable (General Duty)“.
- Eligible SSB personnel have to submit the properly filled Appendix-A application form along with all required documents to their respective units, on or before June 20, 2026.
- Candidates are expected to apply via the proper channel and attach the No Objection Certificate (NOC), the Service Certificate, APAR copies, the DE/Vigilance Clearance and also other supporting records.
- The units will examine everything carefully and forward only the eligible applications to the concerned Frontier Headquarters by June 30, 2026.
- Then the Frontier Headquarters will dispatch the applications to the Application Receiving Centre (ARC), SHQ SSB, Lakhimpur Kheri by July 10, 2026.
- SSB will not entertain any delayed applications, which means applications received after the due date won’t be accepted.
