Exam Pattern

Examination Centres Available to Candidates

• Preliminary Centres: UPSC conducts the examination at 48 centres, including Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Hyderabad, Bangalore and Visakhapatnam.
• Main Examination Centres: UPSC conducts the Main Examination at 24 centres across important regional locations.
• Unlimited Centres: Chennai, Dispur, Kolkata and Nagpur have no cap on the number of candidates allotted.

Hiring Process of UPSC ESE Notification 2027

• Candidates first sit for Prelims Exam which includes two objective papers of General Studies, Engineering Aptitude and Engineering paper of the opted subject with a maximum of 500 marks.
• The candidates who meet the eligibility criteria and clear the Preliminary Examination proceed to the next stage called the Main Examination by following UPSC ESE Notification 2027.
• The Main Examination consists of two traditional papers (three hours each) in the chosen engineering specialty for a total of 600 marks.
