The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), being an autonomous organization under the Department of Health Research, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Govt. of India, has given an announcement for recruitment of ICMR Scientist-C for 2025 for eligible Indian Nationals. ICMR undertakes biomedical/ health research in various fields through its headquarters in New Delhi, 27 institutes/ centres and field stations across the country. Candidates seeking Scientist Government Jobs with requisite qualifications, experience and skills are invited to apply online by November 17, 2025 by 5:30 PM. There are eight (08) vacancies of Scientist-C at Level 11 (Rs. 67,700 – Rs. 2,08,700/-) (7th CPC Scale) of the pay matrix with normal emoluments for posting at ICMR Headquarters/ Institutes/ Centres in Delhi/NCR with all India transfer responsibility. Selection will be based on computer based written examination (MCQ) or interview or both.

Selection process
- ICMR will scrutinize the applications based on the eligibility criteria, including qualifications, experience and uploaded documents. ICMR will immediately reject incomplete or late applications.
- The council may summon the candidates to a computer-based written examination consisting of MCQs on Research Methods in Biomedical Sciences.
- Candidates must score at least 75 per cent in the written exam to qualify for the next stage.
- ICMR will invite those candidates who qualify for the written exam – or in cases where the exam is not conducted – to participate in a personal interview or discussion.
- The council makes the final selection on the basis of performance in written examination and/or interview, assessment of merit, experience and general ability.
- Selected candidates must submit original documents and no objection certificate (if employed in Government/PSU) for verification. ICMR will appoint them after verifying medical fitness and character.

- Register yourself by providing mandatory details to create user ID and password.
- Clink on “Apply Now” to access the online application.
- Fill in the required information correctly section by section in the application form.
- Upload the required documents including self-attested copies of educational qualifications (matriculation and beyond), detailed mark certificate, date of birth, category certificate (SC/ ST/ OBC/ PWBD/ EWS), experience certificate, photograph and signature.

FAQs
The candidates must hold an MBBS or equivalent degree recognized by MCI/NMC. They should possess relevant experience of at least four years in biomedical research or development. Desirable qualification is MD/MS or an MPH or a Ph.D. in or related to biomedical sciences.
The application is done online through the Indian Council of Medical Research’s recruitment portal https://recruit.icmr.org.in. The candidates shall register, fill in all necessary details, upload scanned documents and pay the application fee, if applicable. After finish submission, it is suggested that a hard copy of the fully submitted application be taken for future reference.
Selection may be through a Computer Based Test (CBT) – written test (MCQs)/ Interview or both. The written test shall comprise questions on research methodology and biomedical sciences. Candidates should note that a minimum 75 percentile is required to qualify in the written examination for the final selection. The final selection will depend on the degree of merit and the performance in the selection process.
