Training Period & Stipend
- Training Period: As per Railway Board directives.
- Stipend: As per extant rules under the Apprentices Act 1961.

Selection Process
- Prepare a merit list based on the average of 10th marks (minimum 50% aggregate) and ITI marks in the relevant trade.
- In cases of equal marks, prefer older candidates; in case the dates of birth are equal, prefer earlier 10th passers.
- Division of the final merit list /unit-wise, trade-wise and community-wise, similar to the number of slots.
- Carry out document verification and medical check-up on enlisted candidates.
- Make the final choice upon checking of original testimonials and the medical fitness certificate.
