Selection Process
- Tier-1: Objective (300 marks, 2 hrs) – Qualifying (1:10 shortlisting). Negative marking: -1/wrong.
- Tier-2: Objective (60 marks) + Descriptive (40 marks, 2.5 hrs). Negative: -0.25/wrong.
- Interview (85:15 weightage): For Group A/B posts (100 marks).
- Skill Test (Qualifying): Typing/Shorthand/CPT for Steno/JSA.
- Merit: Tier-2 + Interview; no waiting list.
How to Apply for KVS and NVS Recruitment 2025
- Visit the official application portal at www.cbse.gov.in to access the online application form for KVS and NVS Recruitment 2025.
- Register on the portal by providing a valid email address and mobile number to generate a unique Login ID and Password, which will be sent via email and SMS.
- Log in using the received Login ID and Password to access the application form.
- Choose the ones you want to use in the dropdown menu, where a single subject/ post applies in PGTs and in TGTs and pay a different fee per post in case of multiple posts.
- Enter all the personal, educational and experience information appropriately on the online application form which should match in official documents.
- Provide a current passport-sized photo and signature in JPG format, which is not more than 50 KB.
- Pay the application fee online using Debit Card, Credit Card or Net Banking; the fee varies by post group (Group A: Rs. 2,800; PGT/TGT/PRT: Rs. 2,000; Group B/C: Rs. 1,700) with SC/ST/PwBD/Ex-Servicemen paying only Rs. 500 processing fee.
- Review the entire application form for accuracy, as no modifications are allowed after submission.
- Send the application form and save the Confirmation Page to keep.
- Retain a printout of the Confirmation Page and all uploaded documents, to be produced during document verification if shortlisted; no hard copy needs to be sent to CBSE, KVS or NVS.

Applicants should be nationals of India who have the necessary educational qualifications and experience required for each job. In the case of teaching jobs, an education-related degree or the required subject is required. It might also need administrative or technical experience in non-teaching posts. The age restrictions and other requirements are explained in the official notification. To avoid being disqualified, applicants are required to ensure that they have all the requirements before they apply online.
The procedure of application is completely online. Applicants should go to the official CBSE recruitment portal, enter a valid email and a mobile number, complete the personal and professional information, attach the necessary documents and pay a certain amount of money as the application fee based on his or her category. Once submitted, a copy of the confirmation page should also be downloaded to be used at a later stage in the verification of documents.
The selections are usually conducted in several phases, consisting of Tier-1 and Tier-2 written examinations and an interview or a skill test, based on the position. The marks received in every phase are taken into consideration to make the final merit list.
