Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) has released the official notification regarding the Home Guard Registration of Assam Home Guards Services Class-I (Junior Grade) Home Guards 2026. The Assam Home and Political Department recruitment campaign is in line with the recent APSC advertisement to increase its manpower. The application opening date for candidates is May 08, 2026 and the portal for submission of online applications will remain open until the last date. - Paper I (Written Exam): This is an objective type exam comprising 200 marks on General Science, Current Affairs and Mental Ability based on the syllabus prescribed by APSC Home Guard Junior Grade.
- Paper II (Written Exam): A test of 200 marks in Essays and Comprehension is a regular test needed for all competitive Government Jobs in Assam.

The selection for the APSC Home Guard Recruitment 2026 will be through an objective as well as descriptive paper at the first stage. After that, the candidates will be required to undergo Physical Efficiency Test & Medical examination. Besides the interviewing, the candidates are also evaluated at the interview stage.
The selected candidate gets a very attractive salary where the minimum is Rs. 22,000/- and the maximum is Rs. 97,000/- Pay Scale under Pay Band-3. Also the salary structure incorporates a Grade Pay of Rs. 11,800/- and other benefits such as Dearness Allowance and House Rent Allowance.
