Age Relaxation
- SC/BC: 5 years
- Physically Handicapped: 10 years
- Ex-Servicemen: Deduction of service period in the Armed Forces, provided the resultant age does not exceed the maximum age limit by more than 3 years.
- Punjab Government, its Boards/Corporations/Commissions and other State/Central Government employees: Up to 45 years.
- Widows, divorcees and certain categories of married women (as per Punjab Government letter No. 1/50/83-5PP(1368)-3454 dated 23.04.1984): Up to 40 years.

Selection Process
- Written Examination of 90 Marks conducted by Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Faridkot.
- Minimum 33% marks required to qualify in the written examination.
- Experience Marks up to 10 Marks will be awarded as per eligibility.
- Merit list will be prepared based on written test and experience marks.
- Counseling will be conducted for shortlisted candidates.
- Final selection list will be forwarded to the Department of Health and Family Welfare, Punjab.
- If two candidates secure the same marks, the candidate with higher age will be given preference.
- No additional weightage will be given for higher qualifications.
