Navik (General Duty):

A Navik (GD) provides assistance to the team during sea patrols, Search and Rescue (SAR) operations, and generally on maritime security.

  • Qualifications: 12th in Physics & Math
  • Age: 18 to 22 years
  • For OBC (NCL): +3 yr relaxation; For SC/ST: +5 yr relaxation

Navik (Domestic Branch)

Naviks in the Domestic Branch take on tasks such as cooking, cleaning, and housekeeping.

Yantrik (Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics)

Candidates with a diploma in the field of electrical, mechanical, or electronics disciplines are suitable for this position. They manage machinery & equipment on the Coast Guard ships as well as on the aircraft.

  • Qualification: 12th + 2/3-year diploma or 10th + 3/4-year diploma of a relevant AICTE-verified course.
  • Age: same

  • Log in between June 11 and 25, 2025 (11:00–23:30), on the official portal.
  • Register with a valid email and mobile.
  • Choose any one position (Navik GD / DB / Yantrik).
  • Attach original documents (50150 KB) in Hindi or English (or in non-English languages, but they need to be translated).
  • Application fee: INR 200 for General/EWS/OBC; no charges for SC/PwBD/ST.

Selection Process Overview

Stage I: Computer-Based Test (CBT)

  • Navik GD: 60 questions under 60 minutes (with the 10+2 syllabus).

II: CBT + PFT + Document + Preliminary Medical

  • Physical Fitness Test: 1.6 km run in 7 mins, 20 Uthak‑Baithak, 10 Push‑ups
  • Document verification and basic medical checks follow.

III: Document Verification + Pre‑enrolment Medical (INS Chilka)

  • Original documents checked and police verification reviewed
  • In‑depth medical studies conducted at INS Chilka.
  • Document authenticity confirmed with guardians by educational boards/governments .

IV: Original Documents Re-verification

  • Final check before training begins; any falsehoods lead to immediate discharge .

Medical & Physical Standards: Be Battle‑Ready

  • Height: ≥157 cm; relaxation for Northeast, Andaman/tribal and Gorkhas (–2 to –5 cm)
  • Chest: Expansion ≥5 cm (proportionate build required)
  • Weight: Proportional to height & age (+10%)
  • Hearing and vision to be normal; no color blindness.
  • Dental hygiene is expected.
  • The tattoos must be done on the forearms, wrists or back of the hand. Other areas that bear tattoos must be certified by the tribes. Inappropriate or permanent tattoos can lead to disqualification.

  • Commencement: Feb ’26 for batch 01; July ’26 for batch 02 .
