Posted on: August 30, 2025Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) has officially published the notification for filling up 218 posts of Head of Department (HOD) in Government Polytechnics and Government Women’s Polytechnics under the Department of Science, Technology & Technical Education, Bihar. Indian candidates are welcome to apply online through the official website of BPSC. They can apply from 2nd September 2025 to 30th September 2025. The applicants should check for the eligibility criteria, such as qualifications, work experience and age criteria. They will be selected on the basis of academic background, research output, teaching ability and interview performance.

Selection Process
- Selection based on a 100-point weightage system.
- Academic Background assessed for 20 marks, such as M.Tech/ M.E./ M.S./ M.Sc./ M.A. (10% of the marks, max. 10), B.Tech/ B.E./ B.S./ B.Sc. (Engg.)/ B.Sc. (Hons.)/ B.A. (Hons.) (5% of the marks, max. 5) and Ph.D. (5 marks).
- Research and Book Publications assessed for 20 marks, such as referred journals, books and edited volumes.
- Seminar/ Conference Presentations judged for 10 marks with international (5 marks) and national (2.5 marks) contribution.
- Sponsored Research Projects marked for 20 marks, considering grant amount and policy documents/ patents.
- Refresher Courses/ Workshops/ FDPs are worth 10 marks with 1.5 marks for ≥2 weeks and 1 mark for ≥1 week.
- Interview Performance is worth 20 marks with document verification required and invitations sent to candidates up to five times the vacancies.

- Go to the official BPSC website: www.bpsc.bihar.gov.in or https://bpsconline.bihar.gov.in.
- Do One Time Registration (OTR) by clicking “New User Registration” and submitting a valid email ID and mobile number.
- Log in using OTR credentials and fill up the profile creation (personal, address, qualifications, experience, photo/ signature).
- Go to the New Application Tab, choose the concerned advertisement and check the eligibility criteria.
- Fill the application form correctly and upload the necessary documents (photo, signatures, certificates).
- Pay application fee (Rs. 100 + bank charges; extra Rs. 200 if Aadhaar is not provided).
- Review and apply.
- Download and print two copies of the application from the My Account Tab for future reference.
