Bihar Police Subordinate Services Commission (BPSSC) has formally launched the BPSSC SI Recruitment 2026 through Advertisement Number 09/2026. This BPSSC SI Recruitment 2026 notification will facilitate filling up of 150 vacancies for the post of Police Sub-Inspector (General Closed Cadre) in the Special Branch in the Home Department, Government of Bihar. Indian nationals who have completed their Bachelor Degree in any discipline and who meet the physical and medical fitness criteria can apply online for this recruitment through the official online portal. The entire recruitment process will consist of prelims examination, mains examination, physical efficiency test and medical test. Educational Qualification for BPSSC SI Recruitment 2026

Age Relaxation

• Government Servants (State of Bihar): 5 years of relaxation in age (subject to completion of at least 3 years of service).
• Ex-servicemen: 3 years + an additional number of years corresponding to the period of their defense service subject to their actual age being below 57 years on the cutoff date.
• Children of Freedom Fighters: Relaxation of age only as per guidelines of State Government.

Recruitment Procedure for BPSSC SI Recruitment 2026

Stage 1: Preliminary Written Examination

• Exam Type: Objective MCQ
• Total Marks: 200 (100 questions × 2 marks each)
• Duration: 2 hours
• Subjects: General Studies, General Knowledge, Hindi, English, Reasoning, Mathematics
• Qualifying Marks: Minimum 30%
