BRO Recruitment 2025 – Apply Offline for 542 MSW, Vehicle Mechanic Posts
The Government of India, Ministry of Defence, Border Roads Organisation (BRO) is requesting application for the GREF Recruitment 2025 for the recruitment of various vacancies in the General Reserve Engineer Force (GREF) for an Indian national (only male). Eligible candidates, based on their educational qualification, age criteria and experience, are invited to apply by November 24, 2025 (or December 9, 2025 for mentioned areas). The recruitment process entails Written Test, Physical Efficiency Test (PET), Trade/Practical Test and Primary Medical Examination (PME). Shortlisted candidates will be allotted to work in diverse projects across India, especially the Northern and Eastern regions. The recruitment is Government Defence Jobs with a chance to contribute to national security infrastructure development.

- MSW (Driver Engine Static – DES): Pay Band-1, Rs. 5,200 – Rs. 20,200/- + Grade Pay Rs. 1,800/-
Selection Process
- Written Test: Objective/subjective questions as per syllabus (e.g., engine running in the case of Vehicle Mechanic, painting processes in the case of MSW Painter, static engine maintenance in the case of MSW DES). Passing marks are 50% (UR/EWS/OBC), 40% (SC/ST).
- Physical Efficiency Test (PET): 10-minute one-mile run (1.6 km) (compulsory to qualify). Departmental candidates and Ex-Servicemen are exempted.
- Practical/Trade Test: All the posts are conducted to test trade skills (minimum marks of 40% to be qualified).
- Primary Medical Examination (PME): Done by a Medical Board to ascertain whether the candidates possess BRO’s physical and medical standards (Schedule-II and Schedule-III).

- Go to www.bro.gov.in and navigate to the “Recruitment” section.
- Find the “PUBLICATION OF VACANCIES FOR RECRUITMENT AGAINST ADVT NO.02-2025” notice.
- Read the advertisment to know the eligibility.
- Download application form (Appendix ‘A’) from the website or Employment News.
- Complete the form in CAPITAL LETTERS on A4 75 GSM paper.
- Affix a recent 4cm x 5cm size photograph (not more than 1 month old).
- Deposit self-attested documents (Matriculation, technical, caste, EWS, residence, Aadhaar certificates).
- Pay Rs. 50/- (UR/OBC/EWS) through SBI Collect, paste e-receipt; SC/ST exempt.
- Application by Registered Post to Commandant, GREF Centre, Pune – 411015 on or before November 24, 2025 (mainland) or December 9, 2025 (defined areas).

Shortlisted applicants must download offline application form from BRO official website. Form is to be filled in CAPITAL letters along with requisite documents. Application fee (Rs. 50/- for UR/OBC/EWS) is to be paid through SBI Collect. Completed forms are to be posted by Registered Post to GREF Centre, Pune, on/or before closing date.
Written Test, Physical Efficiency Test (run for 1.6 km), Practical/Trade Test and Primary Medical Examination form the selection procedure. The candidates need to clear every stage to move forward and merit will be determined on the basis of marks in the written test and trade performance, clearing medical and physical tests.
Shortlisted candidates shall be posted in different BRO projects all over India, i.e., Northern and Eastern parts of the nation like J&K, Ladakh and North-Eastern states. Service includes posting under Central Civil Service Rules, e.g., facilities like accommodation, rations, medical treatment and other allowances from BRO.
