Selection Process
- CBT (100 objective, multiple-choice questions).
- Total marks: 100, duration: 2 hours
- Syllabus has Draftsman (Civil), Surveyor, Plumber, Mathematics (Matriculation level) and General Knowledge.
- Negative marking: -0.25 marks will be deducted for per wrong answer.
- Minimum qualifying marks: General (40%), Backward Class (36.5%), Extremely Backward Class (34%), SC/ ST/ Women/ PwD (32%)
- List of merit ready based on CBT scores.

FAQs
Qualifications needed: Candidates should be Indian citizens with Matriculation (10th pass) and an approved DOMA certificate in Draughtsman Civil, Surveyor or Plumber trade. The age limits depend on the category and the general candidates are limited to 37 years, whereas the SC/ST candidates will be 42 years as of 01/08/2025. Other relaxations are available to Divyang candidates and the employees of the Bihar government. All educational and age requirements must be satisfied before the online application is submitted.
The applications are done online via the official BTSC site www.btsc.bihar.gov.in. The application window will be open on 10th October 2025 and then close on 10th November 2025. All the applicants should be able to upload all the applicable documents and include certificates, mark sheets, caste/ domicile proof and photographs. There will be no offline, handwritten or late submissions.
The test is selected on a Computer-Based Test (CBT) of 100 objective-type questions on ITI knowledge of trade, mathematics and general knowledge. Each correct answer awards 1 mark, while wrong answers incur a 0.25 negative mark. Candidates must meet minimum qualifying marks depending on their category to advance to document verification and final merit preparation.
