Selection Process
- Candidates may submit their applications online on the ECIL website after registering on the NATS portal.
- Shortlisting will mainly be done on the basis of data filled in the online application form.
- The shortlisted candidates will be called for original document verification at CLDC-ECIL, Hyderabad.
- A final merit list will be prepared based on the marks attained in the qualifying examination (B.E./ B.Tech for GEAs and Diploma marks for TAs).
- Selected candidates will be inducted for apprenticeship training commencing from February 09, 2026.

- No TA/DA will be given to attend document verification.
FAQs
The ECIL Apprentice Recruitment 2026 is an annual course offering one-year Graduate Engineer Apprentices (GEA) and Technician Apprentices (TA) training in various branches of engineering. It is a government program pursuant to the Apprenticeship Act, 1961 with Rs. 9,000/- and Rs. 8,000/- in stipends of GEAs and TAs respectively. This program assists recent graduates and people with diploma to become exposed to a Public Sector Undertaking, which improves career opportunities in the engineering and technology careers.
Applicants should have finished B.E./B.Tech or three-year Diploma in engineering branches related to it (on or after April 1, 2023). Only the Indian residents have the right to apply. The upper limit is 25 years until December 31, 2025 and it is relaxed in the case of SC/ST, OBC and PwD candidates. By fulfilling these requirements, it means that the applicants are able to get into the selection process and become eligible to receive training as apprentices.
It is selected depending on academic merit. In ECIL, shortlisting of candidates is done based on marks achieved in the qualifying examination. The shortlisted candidates are invited to document verification at Hyderabad. Upon a successful checking process, final merit lists are drawn and the successful candidates are contacted to train them. There is neither a written examination nor an interview and therefore the process is transparent and merit based.
