- Selected candidates receive a basic monthly pay of Rs. 60,000/- within a total salary bracket of Rs. 60,000 – Rs. 1,80,000/- during their one-year E-2 grade apprenticeship.
Selection Process for GAIL Recruitment 2026
- GAIL will shortlist candidates for this GAIL Recruitment 2026 based on their performance and marks obtained in the GATE-2026 examination.
- GAIL will only accept GATE-2026 marks for this recruitment exercise and will not consider scores from 2025 or prior years.
- The Selection Committee will conduct a Group Discussion and/or a Personal Interview as part of the selection process for this Executive Trainee vacancy.
- GAIL may use a Case Study or Writing Exercise instead of a Group Discussion to assess the skills and competencies of specific PwBD categories.

To be eligible in the GAIL Executive Trainee Recruitment 2026, the applicant must have a regular full-time Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering. The branches that are eligible are Chemical, Petrochemical, Instrumentation, Instrumentation and Control, Electrical, Electrical and Electronics, Mechanical and Production. To satisfy the primary educational requirements, the applicants should successfully pass a minimum of 65 percent marks (60 percent in the case of SC/ST/PwBD).
The short listing of the applicants in the GAIL Recruitment 2026 is largely based on the GATE-2026 scores. This is followed by shortlisted people then going through a Group Discussion and a Personal Interview with a Selection Committee.
