Essentially, six months will be spent in training and then three and a half years will be served on active duty. Marriage is prohibited in service and strict military discipline must be followed. Still, after the four, year term is over, based on merit and organizational requirements, 25% of the batch may be offered permanent enrollment in the regular cadre.

Technician posts essentially require the candidate to have studied Science (PCM) in 10+2 with 50% marks.
