Indian Army SSCW (Tech & Non-Tech) 66th Course 2026 – Apply Online for Short Service Commission for Women

The Indian Army invites applications from eligible unmarried Female Engineering Graduates and Widows of Indian Armed Forces Defence Personnel who died in harness for the 66th Short Service Commission (SSC) Women Course (Tech and Non-Tech, Non-UPSC). The course will commence in April 2026 at the Pre-Commissioning Training Academy (PCTA). Ensure you meet the eligibility criteria, including educational qualifications, age limit and physical standards. Selection will be based on shortlisting, SSB interview and medical examination.

Age Limit

• SSCW (Tech)-66 Women: 20–27 years as on 01 Apr 2026 (born between 01 Apr 1999 and 31 Mar 2006, inclusive).
• Widows of Defence Personnel: Maximum 35 years as on 01 Apr 2026.

Pay Scale

• Lieutenant: Rs. 56,100–1,77,500 (Level-10)
• Captain: Rs. 61,300–1,93,900 (Level-10B)
• Major: Rs. 69,400–2,07,200 (Level-11)
• Training Stipend: Rs. 56,100/month (Level-10)
• Additional Allowances: Military Service Pay (Rs. 15,500/month), Dearness Allowance, Field Area Allowances, Transport Allowance, Children Education Allowance (Rs. 2,812.50/ month/ child) and more.

Work Experience

• No prior work experience required for SSCW (Tech)-66 Women or Widows.

Physical Standards

Selection Process

• Shortlisting: Based on cumulative percentage of marks up to the final semester and vacancy-to-call-up ratio.
• SSB Interview: Conducted at Allahabad (UP), Bhopal (MP), Bengaluru (Karnataka) or Jalandhar Cantt (Punjab) over five days (two-stage process).
• Medical Examination: For candidates recommended after SSB.
• Merit List: Based on SSB marks with tie-breakers using age and degree percentage.
• Joining: Medically fit candidates within the merit list and vacancy limit will receive joining letters for training at PCTA.

Training

• Duration: 49 weeks at the Officers Training Academy (OTA).
• Cost: Fully funded by the government. Withdrawal for non-medical reasons incurs a refund of training costs (Rs. 16,260/week as of 2023, subject to revision).
• Award: Post Graduate Diploma in Defence Management and Strategic Studies.

Important Notes

• Documents: Carry originals and self-attested copies of educational certificates, marksheets and other required documents to the SSB interview.
• Discipline: Marriage during training is prohibited and violations lead to discharge and liability to refund training costs.
• Travel Allowance: AC-3 Tier or bus fare for first-time SSB candidates.

1. For SSCW (Tech)-66 Women:
   • Visit www.joinindianarmy.nic.in.
   • Navigate to “Officer Entry Appln/Login” and click “Registration” (if not already registered).
   • Fill out the online application form with accurate personal, educational and communication details.
   • Verify all details, submit the application and print two copies with the Roll Number 30 minutes after the application closes (21 Aug 2025).
   • Carry required documents (originals and self-attested copies) to the SSB interview.
2. For Widows of Defence Personnel:
   • Download the application form from www.joinindianarmy.nic.in.
   • Enclose self-attested copies of required documents (Class 10th/12th certificates, degree/ marksheets, Part II Order of marriage/demise, casualty certificates etc.).
   • Send the application to: Rtg ‘A’ (TGC) Section, Dte Gen of Rtg, AG’s Branch, IHQ, Ministry of Defence (Army), West Block-III, R K Puram, New Delhi-110066 by 29 Aug 2025.
   • Superscribe the envelope in red ink with the name and rank of the deceased personnel (e.g., “Widows of late [Name, Rank]”).
