  • Must be an Indian citizen.
  • Person of ability, integrity and standing with experience in Life Insurance, General Insurance,
    Actuarial Science, Finance, Economics, Law, Accountancy or Administration.
  • Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries of India (IAI) or equivalent international actuarial body.
  • Minimum 25 years of professional experience in Actuarial Science, including at least 3 years
    in a senior leadership position.
  • Proven leadership and decision-making record in Government, Public Sector, Regulatory,
    Private or Academic institutions.
  • Strong knowledge of financial and insurance regulatory frameworks.
  • Excellent professional reputation and ethical standards.

Age Limit

  • Maximum age should not exceed 60 years as on 04 January 2026.
  • Candidate must have a minimum residual service of 2 years before attaining the age of 62.
  • No person shall continue in the post beyond 62 years of age.

Pay Scale

  • Consolidated monthly salary of Rs. 5,00,000/-

Selection Process

  • The Financial Sector Regulatory Appointment Search Committee (FSRAS) will recommend candidates for selection.
  • The Committee will evaluate the candidates’ qualifications, experience and suitability for the post.
  • Shortlisted candidates will attend an interview or interaction during the assessment process.
  • The Central Government will approve the final appointment.

Eligible professionals who are Indian nationals specialized in actuarial science, finance, insurance or others. Applicants must be Fellows of approved actuarial institutes with at least 25 years of experience including 3 years in top management.
