Jharkhand Grih Raksha Vahini, Dumka has let out recruitment for Jharkhand Home Guards under Advertisement No. 01/2025, to enroll as voluntary Gramin and Shahri Home Guards in Dumka district. Online applications are invited separately for Gramin and Shahri categories from November 18, 2025 to December 20, 2025, from eligible persons who are permanent residents of Dumka to render nation-selflessly service. This is a voluntary organization, duty allowance is received by members only for the days he was deployed, not salary or livelihood. Selection consists of physical tests, Hindi writing ability, technical abilities, merit list, medical and police verification followed by basic training. Selection Process
- PET includes physical tests: those worth a mile run, high jump, long jump. The challenge is shot put, scoring qualifying time limits and separate standards set for Gramin/Non-Technical Shahri versus Technical Shahri.
- Hindi Language Writing Ability: Qualifying: 100 marks, pass: 30 – 7th grade Gramin; 10th grade Shahri.
- Technical Ability Test: For Shahri technical qualifier (100 marks has minimum passing mark of 30).
- Merit list + Medical + Police verification + Basic Training at Ranchi HQ.

Candidates must be born in Dumka district. For reaching such areas, applicants coming from the countryside belonging to respective blocks and urbanized Dumka areas are considered applicants from urban regions. Age between 19 years and 40 years. Educational qualification minimum of 7th pass for rural posts and up to 10th pass for urban posts. The candidate must submit all self-attested certificates through online mode of application.
Selection will be done under following stages of selection: physical fitness test, Hindi writing and technical skill assessment tests for eligible urban candidates. Candidates are selected in the final stage based on merit, bonus marks obtained from the sports achievements, verification of documents, medical test and clearance in police character verification prior to being appointed as Home Guards.
