Selection Process for JPSC Civil Services Examination 2026
- The selection process comprises two sequential steps: Preliminary Examination (Objective Type) as a screening test and Main Examination (Written and Interview) for final selection.
- This is the Main stage of the JPSC Preliminary and Main Examination Syllabus, comprising two mandatory 2-hour objective papers, General Studies-I and II, carrying a total of 400 marks.
- The Main stage comprises a 6-paper Written Examination and a 100-mark Interview with Paper-I (Language) being a qualifying paper only with no marks being added to the final merit list.
- The candidates need to secure a minimum qualifying mark in aggregate (40% for Unreserved/EWS with relaxations for other categories) to qualify for the merit list.
- The final selection is based on the aggregate marks secured in the Main Written Examination (Papers II-VI) and the Interview Test.
