FAQs
Applicants under the age of 35 years who hold a Master’s degree in Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Operational Research, MBA or IT/Computer Science with a focus on Data Analytics are welcome. The applicants ought to possess one year of experience in an area of research, survey management or data analysis within one year of post-qualification experience. There is a bias towards the experienced professionals in a government, international organizations or research institutes.
The Expert Group on CPI revisions will be assisted by the Selected Young Professionals who will analyze and tabulate data, prepare technical notes, draft reports and design survey tools. They will be assigned full-time work on research and data analysis activities, meetings and report preparation. The interaction is contractual and no other assignment is allowed to prevent division of attention in reporting on labour statistics and policy research work.
The post will be remunerated with a consolidated salary of Rs. 60,000 every month and a term of one year with a possible extension of 3 years, depending on performance. It includes travel allowances on official duty, the annual leave and a potential annual pay increment of 5-10 percent. Personal travel is not subject to a TA/DA and the employment is simply contractual with performance reviews being the basis of further continuation and maybe revision of pay.
