The Supply Branch of the Subdivisional Office, Muzaffarpur West, announces requests for applications from interested candidates for new licenses of Fair Prices Shops in the district of Muzaffarpur, under the provisions of the Bihar Targeted Public Distribution System (Control) Order, 2016 and its amendment in 2022. Candidates are invited to apply for certain category wise vacancies for Fair Price Shops at the block – or in some instances the panchayat – or in some instances the ward – level. Selection Process
- Applications will be scrutinized and a provisional merit list shall be made and sent to the District Supply Officer for the District-Level Selection Committee.
- The provisional merit list will be displayed on the notice boards of the Subdivisional Officer and District Supply Officer with 15 days allowed for objections/claims.
- Objections will be resolved within 15 days and a final merit list will be published.
- Appeals against the final merit list are to be made to the Divisional Commissioner, Tirhut Division, Muzaffarpur within 15 days, which should be disposed of within 30 days.
- Grant of license will be made following the appeal or in absence of any appeal.

- Visit www.muzaffarpur.nic.in, under “Notice” > “Recruitment,” search for the “Sub-Divisional Office, Muzaffarpur West (Supply Division)” notice for Schedule 1 (individuals) or Schedule 2 (SHGs/cooperatives) forms, or visit the Subdivisional Office notice board.
- Read the notice to determine eligibility and complete the proforma application form with care.
- Attach three recent passport size photographs (one self-attested, pasted on the form; two name and address written on back) and self-attested photocopies of matriculation certificate (age), educational certificates and computer knowledge certificates (as the case may be).
- Include self-attested residence certificate, Aadhaar card, caste certificate (in the case of SC/ST/BC/EBC), non-creamy layer certificate (in the case of BC/EBC) and income/asset certificate (for EWS).

- Furnish an affidavit that no PDS shop is in the family, there is no criminal case, no insolvency, no government employment, no flour mill and no elective office.
- For cooperatives/SHGs, furnish group formation documents, bank statement (1+ years old), election proceedings, grading certificate and caste certificates (if claiming reservation).
- Send the application by registered post/speed post in a sealed envelope to: Licensing Authority-cum-Subdivisional Officer, Western Muzaffarpur, Collectorate Campus, Muzaffarpur, Bihar, Pin Code: 842001 with “Application for PDS Dealer License, Advertisement No. 01/2025-26, Panchayat & Block Name” on the envelope, by November 4, 2025, 5:00 PM; keep a copy with you.
