Ministry of Defence (Navy) has launched Designated Trade Apprentices Enrollment announcement for ITI-qualified Indian citizens at Naval Dockyard Apprentices School, Visakhapatnam (DAS(Vzg)). This is one year apprenticeship training which holds opportunities of 320 vacancies in 15 designated trades under the Apprentices Act of 1961 and Apprenticeship Rules of 1992. This recruitment becomes the most suitable option for aspirants keenly looking for Indian Navy Jobs into the technical and skilled trade category. Candidates have to register on NAPS portal and apply offline by January 02, 2026. The selection process to be followed includes shortlisting based on SSC/ITI marks, written examination on March 22, 2026, followed by document verification and a medical examination. A monthly stipend of Rs. 9,600/- to Rs. 10,560/- would be paid to selected candidates during apprenticeship.

Selection Process

  • Written Exam: MCQs-100 Maths 35, Gen Science 35, GK 30-in 2 hours,- English, no negative marking.
  • Final Merit: For exam marks, in case marks are equal, then enabled for tie breaker; Date of Birth (Elder first), then by alphabetical name.
  • Verification and Medical: Document verification to be done under mandatory conditions for shortlisted applicants.

How to Apply for Naval Dockyard Recruitment 2025

  • Register on www.apprenticeshipindia.gov.in under NAPS (ensure Aadhaar/SSC details match; update Aadhaar if needed).
  • Fill general details (name, date of birth, email and mobile), activate via email and complete the profile-100% (education, trade preference, Aadhaar, PAN, bank, community; upload documents).
  • Search for ‘NAVAL DOCKYARD’ (Establishment ID: E08152800002), select Visakhapatnam, choose desired trade and apply via portal guidelines.
  • Take a printout of the complete Apprentice Profile.
  • Make two Hall tickets (Annexure I): to be filled with BLACK or BLUE fountain pen in BLOCK LETTER, paste recent passport size photo, put LTI/signature.
  • Create a check-off list (Annexure II): Profile printout, self-attested copies of SSC/ITI marks, community/PWD/Armed Forces certificates (if applicable), copy of Aadhaar card and self-addressed stamped envelope (Rs. 55/- for Speed Post).
  • This envelope (Trade name to be mentioned on cover) should be sent by post to: “The Officer-in-Charge (for Apprenticeship), Naval Dockyard Apprentices School, VM Naval Base S.O., P.O., Visakhapatnam 530 014, Andhra Pradesh”.
  • Ensure receipt by Jan 02, 2026 (no extensions); Hall Tickets will be sent out via Speed Post to only shortlisted candidates for the examination.

FAQs

Applicants must be Indian citizens who have a minimum of SSCE/Matric and ITI qualifications in the applicable trades. Applicants should also meet the age limits specified by NAVAL DOCKYARD for the various trades and show that they are in good physical shape according to the standards set by NAVAL DOCKYARD. People who have completed or are currently undergoing an apprenticeship in the same trade are not eligible to apply for the apprenticeship at NAVAL DOCKYARD.

To apply for an apprenticeship, candidates must register at www.apprenticeshipindia.gov.in. After a candidate creates their personal profile in addition to entering individual information like education, contacts, banking info etc.; a candidate must look for “NAVAL DOCKYARD” and then search for the trade they wish to apply for. A candidate must submit a hardcopy of their completed profile, hall ticket and any supporting documents to the address provided in the call for applications before the deadline.

The selection for NAVAL DOCKYARD’s apprenticeship program is based on merit which is derived from weightage given to the candidate’s SSC marks (70%) and ITI marks (30%) at the time of shortlisting candidates for a written test. Shortlisted Candidates will be required to appear for a written test conducted on OMR answer sheets that consist of three sections (Mathematics, General Science and General Knowledge) consisting of questions for two hours.
