Remuneration Details
- Mining Sirdar T&S Grade C: Rs. 47,330.25/- per month
- Surveyor T&S Grade B: Rs. 51,103.12/- per month
- Other Allowances: Dearness Allowance, attendance bonus, special allowance, transportation allowance and medical facilities as per the company policy and National Coal Wage Agreement
- Probation period: 6 months for both posts
- Confirmation of Grades: The candidates will be confirmed in their respective grades after completing the probation period successfully

Recruitment Procedure for NCL Recruitment 2026
- Format of CBT: Consists of 100 multiple-choice questions that have to be answered in 90 minutes.
- Section A: Specialty Knowledge and Technical – 70 Marks
- Section B: In a broad sense, it deals with questions about common facts, general awareness reasoning verbal ability and numerical ability – a total of 30 marks.
- Marking Scheme: The Exam Pattern of the Test will give 1 mark for each correct answer and there is NO negative marking for an incorrect response or guess.
- Language: the medium of question papers is English and Hindi both whereas English is the language considered in case of dispute, confusion or discrepancy.

FAQs
For Mining Sirdar vacancy, it is mandatory to have matriculation along with Mining Sirdar or Overman Competency Certificate issued by DGMS, Gas Testing and First Aid Certificate. However, having Degree or Diploma in Mining Engineering may also be accepted. In case of Surveyor position, one must have matriculation along with Surveyor’s Certificate of Competency or Engineering Degree/Diploma.
The recruitment procedure comprises Computer Based Test (CBT) of single session lasting for 90 minutes. The total marks obtained in the test will be 100 marks out of which 70 marks will come from the technical knowledge while rest 30 marks will be from general aptitude and reasoning.
The age criterion for regular candidates should lie between 18 to 30 years on the important date of closure. There is an upper age relaxation scheme according to government guidelines: 5 years relaxation for SC/ST candidates, 3 years for OBC-NCL candidates and Ex-Servicemen candidates. But for the departmental candidates of Coal India Limited, there is no upper age relaxation criterion.
