Recruitment Procedure for NLC India Apprentice Recruitment 2026
- Trade Apprentices: Selection depends on the percentage of marks secured in the qualifying ITI examination.
- Graduate and Technician Apprentices: Selection for these TN Govt jobs is done depending on the percentage of marks secured in the qualifying Degree / Diploma examination.
- Conversion of CGPA: Candidates need to furnish a certificate from the university for conversion of CGPA to percentage; otherwise equivalent percentage will be obtained by multiplying CGPA by 10.
- Marks obtained in semesters: For engineering / diploma candidates, average percentage obtained between 2nd to final year will be considered.
- Marks obtained in non-engineering semesters: Average percentage obtained between 1st to final year will be considered.
- In case of tie: Preference will be given to older candidates in terms of date of birth.
Job Profile
- Trade Apprentices: They will help in mechanical assembly, electric wiring, welding, auto mechanic and computer operation in various NLCIL workshops and maintenance units.
- Engineering Graduates Apprentices: They will assist in project implementation, design, supervision and quality check within their respective engineering divisions.
- Non-Engineering Graduates Apprentices: They will help in administrative, accounting, commerce, laboratory and health services depending on their fields of study.
- Technician Apprentices: They will work along with experienced technicians in installing, calibrating, trouble-shooting and maintenance of machinery.
- Training Program Structure: All apprentices will be trained systematically through on-the-job training program under the Apprentices Act, 1961 for one year.

Candidates applying for Graduate Apprentice should have a regular degree from any recognized university in the particular engineering/ technical branch. In case of applying for Technician Apprentice, candidates should possess a regular diploma from any recognized institution in the field of engineering/ technology. Furthermore, those candidates who have undergone or are undergoing training program through apprenticeship under the Apprentices Act are not qualified to apply for the posts.
