North Eastern Railway Sports Quota Recruitment 2025 – Apply Online for 49 Posts
Railway Recruitment Cell, North Eastern Railway (NER), Gorakhpur has released the Sports Quota Recruitment 2025-26 for Indian citizens meeting the required qualifications. Online applications are invited from eligible candidates possessing prescribed sports qualifications for Level-1 to Level-5 (Group ‘C’ & Group ‘D’) posts in N.E. Railway. Candidates must assure that they meet eligibility criteria including educational qualifications, age limit and sports achievements. Selection Process
- Performance in sports trials and assessment of achievements.
- Assessment Marks Distribution: Sports Achievements – 50, Trials/Physical Fitness/Coach Observation – 40, Educational Qualification – 10.
- Minimum Qualifying Marks: Level 4/5 – 70, Level 2/3 – 65, Level 1 – 60.
- Merit-based selection; in the event of a tie, younger applicant given preference.

- Upload scanned copies of your latest photograph, signature and supporting certificates (educational, sports etc.).
- Pay the application fee online according to your category. Check the application and submit it.

FAQs
Candidates need to satisfy both educational and sports requirements. The educational qualification differs as per the Grade Pay. For Level-1, an individual needs to be 10th pass or have an ITI/NAC, whereas for Level-2/3, it is 10+2 or ITI/Apprenticeship and Level-4/5 would demand a university degree. Sports achievements should be in accordance with National/International recognized championships of sports.
The online application process will commence on October 22, 2025 at 1000 Hrs and end on November 10, 2025 at 1800 Hrs. The candidates are requested to apply well in advance of the above date and time and ensure that all documents, such as photographs, signatures and certificates, have been duly uploaded.
Assessment is made on three criteria: known sporting achievements (50 marks), game ability and fitness in trials (40 marks) and academic qualifications (10 marks). The passing mark is: for Level-4/5: 70, for Level-2/3: 65 and for Level-1: 60. The final list will be based totally on merit.
