Stages of the Selection Journey for TNPSC Group 4 Recruitment 2026

  • This recruitment will be through a one-stage written examination in the OMR objective mode containing 200 questions with 300 marks to be completed within three hours.
  • Part A of this examination consists of a Tamil eligibility and scoring test containing 100 questions of 150 marks and applicants must obtain at least 60 marks to make the other parts of the examination eligible for assessment.
  • Part B consists of 75 questions in General Studies and Part C consists of 25 questions in aptitude with 90 marks as the total qualifying marks.
  • For differently abled persons studying only English, a General English paper can replace the Tamil eligibility test.
  • In case of tie, preference will be given to higher qualification, higher technical qualification, seniority in age and application number.
  • After shortlisting, on-screen certificate verification will be done in the ratio of 1:3 for general and 1:2 for reserved categories, followed by physical verification and counseling and in addition, candidates applying for forest posts will undergo physical and endurance tests in Chennai.
  • Candidates who are selected are appointed to different departments as Government Jobs in Tamil Nadu, but Handloom Junior Assistant may be posted in any part of India, while Sales Assistant can be posted in New Delhi, Kolkata or Tamil Nadu.
