The West Bengal Central School Service Commission (WBSSC) has released the 1st State Level Selection Test (SLST) 2025 for Non-Teaching Staff [Group C (Clerk) and Group D] recruitment in Government Aided/ Sponsored Junior High, Secondary and Higher Secondary Schools in West Bengal. Make sure you meet the eligibility criteria, including the educational qualification, age limit and other conditions. Elections will be based on written examination, academic assessment (for clerk), experience and interview (including typing-CUM-Computer Efficiency Test for Clerk). Successful candidates will be appointed recognized government assistance/sponsored schools in the Western Bengal. Pay Scale
- Group D: Pay Level 1 under ROPA 2019 (Rs. 17,000 – Rs. 43,600/-) + DA, HRA & other allowances. Approx. starting salary Rs. 25,000 – Rs. 30,000/-month.
- Clerk (Group C): Pay Level 6 under ROPA 2019 (Rs. 22,700 – Rs. 58,500/-) + DA, HRA & other allowances. Approx. starting salary Rs. 35,000 – Rs. 40,000/-month.
Selection Process
- Written exam: The candidates must show up for the written exam that is scheduled in January 2026.
- Educational assessment: In addition, the commission is likely to determine whether needed educational qualifications on the part of the candidate for appointment in the office of a grade-III post are already intact.
- Evaluation of experience: Relevant previous work experience is evaluated for both clerk and group D posts.
- Interview: Candidates on a short list must undergo personal interview.
- Typing and computer skill tests: Clerk candidates must qualify typing-cum computer proficiency test.
- Final Merit list: Elections are based on combined performance in written survey, academic assessment, experience, interview and skill test (for clerk).
