Gauhati High Court Recruitment 2026 – Apply Online for 39 Posts
Gauhati High Court has issued the official notification of the Gauhati High court Recruitment 2026, whereby online applications should be submitted by the eligible Indian Citizens registered with an Employment Exchange in the State of Assam. This recruitment drive will concentrate on filling 39 vacancies in the Principal Seat of the High Court, such as the vacancies in the Judicial Assistants, Computer Assistants, Chauffeurs and Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS). The vacancies are a good chance to these candidates who are interested in finding stable Judiciary Jobs in India. Selection Process
- Written exam or Screening test as a measure of General English and Aptitude.
- Skill test or Practical test which specifically applies in technical jobs such as Chauffeur and Computer Assistant.
- Scientific Computer Proficiency test of a clerical job.
- Viva-voce or Interview to finalise shortlisted candidates.
- Checking of original documents and physical capability.

Requirement: Judicial Assistants should be computer knowledge graduates whereas Computer Assistants need to have a degree and six-month computer diploma. In the case of Chauffeurs, a Class X pass and valid LMV license is required. Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS) should have successfully passed Class VIII. Interestingly, the holders of HSSLC or even more are barred out of MTS jobs. Any candidate must have a valid Assam Employment Exchange registration.
Gauhati High Court Recruitment 2026 Posts started Jan 09, 2026. Applicants will have to fill in online forms until January 26, 2026. The last day of fee payment is January 29, 2026. The General/OBC fee is Rs. 500/- and SC/ST is Rs. 250/- fee. PwBD candidates are not to be paid.
OMR-based written tests will be used in selection of all positions. Specialty posts will include Chauffeur or Computer Assistant, which will need further skill or driving examination. Majority of the positions end with a viva-voce or an interview. Combined scores on these stages are used to determine merit. The Assamese language block is a qualifying only/ one and will not have any bearings on the final merit list.
