Principal Chief Commissioner of CGST and Central Excise, Lucknow Zone invites applications from eligible sportsperson for the filling of 17 vacant posts, wherein there are 3 vacancies for Tax Assistant and 14 vacancies for Havaldar posts. The CGST Lucknow Sports Quota Recruitment 2026 invites applications from sportspersons of 65 sports as mentioned in the DoPT Office Memorandum dated 04 March 2024. For Tax Assistants, the pay scale is 7th CPC Pay Matrix – Level 4 while for Havaldars, the pay scale is 7th CPC Pay Matrix – Level 1. • Representation: The candidates who have participated in National/International Competitions can apply as representing their State or the country.

• University Teams: Inter-University tournaments organised by Inter-University Sports Boards
• School Teams: All India School Games Federation’s state school teams to compete in state school games.
  Chess: Titles of Grandmaster and International Master, participation in Chess Olympiads, eligible medals in the National Team Chess Championship.
  Doping : No candidate is having any ongoing doping or unfair means investigation.

• Applications can also be sent in the standard format either by Post or in person before the last date of application submission.
• Authorities review all applications to ensure they meet the eligibility requirements in education and sports. Incomplete or unsigned applications are eliminated.
• Officials will identify those eligible and rank them in order of their representation in sport.
• The administrators select qualified candidates and rank them as per the sports representation.

• Firstly, Visit the official website of CBIC www.cbic.gov.in or ccolkozone.gov.in
• Then, click on “What’s New” on the homepage.
• Read the complete notification titled as “Recruitment of Meritorious Sportspersons under Sports Quota”  before applying for it.
• Take out Annexure A (Application form) and complete it in black ink in capital letters.
• When applying for two posts, please specify a preference order; and indicate the post applied for.
• Cut and glue in a recent colour passport size photo and sign the declaration.
• Self-attested copies of age proof, educational certificate, identity proof, category certificate and NOC (if applicable) should be attached.
• Submit a valid Form 1 to Form 5 sports certificate from appropriate certification body for achievement.
• Attach the complete application in a closed cover and give it Application for Meritorious Sportsperson in CGST and Central Excise Lucknow Zone 2026.

Key Instructions Before You Apply

• One Application: Apply once only for both posts. If you apply multiple times, we will reject all your applications.
• Post Preference: Please fill in first and second preferences if you are applying for both posts. The department will not accept any applications which do not specify preferences.

• Disability Rules: No reservation is available to candidates having disability likely to be improved. To be eligible for PwBD reservation, the candidate needs to produce the certificate given in Annexe E.
• Test Expenses: Shortlisted candidates will have to bear their own expenses towards attending the tests. The department will update with the schedule of the tests in due course.
• Final Authority: Do not canvass and give false information. Both these acts may lead to rejection/cancellation of candidature.
