Candidate Shortlisting Criteria for UPSSSC JE Electrical Recruitment 2026
- Only those candidates who have appeared in PET 2025 and who hold the scorecard issued by the commission are eligible to appear in the final examination.
- The selection is made in accordance with meritwise classification based on normalized marks in PET 2025 and that number would be 15 times the number of vacancies.
- Those candidates who have normalized or absolute marks of zero or less than zero will not be considered for further selection.
- If any candidate who has been listed as under investigation or provisionally as per the PET 2025 results, he/she may be considered on case-to-case basis as per the decision made by the commission.
- The candidates shortlisted for final selection shall have to appear in the objective type paper having 100 questions carrying negative marking of 0.25.

The total number of vacancies available under UPSSSC JE Electrical Recruitment 2026 is 380. Out of which 231 vacancies are for Post in Public Works Department, 56 vacancies for Electrician in UPSRTC and 44 vacancies in Rajkiya Nirman Nigam. The remaining vacancies are in universities or in other departments. This number may change due to the new rule of reservation.
Applicants can apply for UPSSSC JE Recruitment from November 6, 2026 to November 27, 2026. Payment adjustment and modification of application can be made up to December 4, 2026. Candidates with their scorecard after appearing in PET 2025 only can apply for UPSSSC JE recruitment.
Most of the posts require three year diploma in Electrical Engineering or any other equivalent degree along with High School in case of PWD based posts. For Electrician a licence in supervision is required whereas for Research Assistant two years experience in teaching is necessary. Qualification should be held till November 27, 2026.
There are 100 objective questions each carrying one mark with a total time duration of two hours. Negative marking is at 0.25 marks. There is no need to pay any entrance fee but an online processing fee of Rs. 25/- in all categories. Shortlisted candidates have to pay the main exam fee separately.
