Pay Scale Details
- Journeyman Year 1: Rs. 24,000/- per month
- Journeyman Year 2: Rs. 26,000/- per month
- Pay After Absorption: SSK grade Rs. 19,900/- to Rs. 69,650/-

Selection Stages and Final Merit List for GRSE Recruitment 2026
- Applicants are to be selected through qualifying marks in case there is an excess number of applicants.
- The applicants will have to sit for the written exam of 100 marks either in Kolkata or Ranchi.
- Applicants for Rigger, Crane Operator and Driver-Material Handling have to qualify in the physical efficiency test of qualifying nature.
- Then the selected candidates will be called for the practical test in the ratio of 1 to 5 against each vacancy.
- The documents will be verified prior to the practical test and the selected candidates get to work for Government jobs in West Bengal or in other units of the company.
- The practical test will carry 50 marks and will be of qualifying nature.
- A merit list will be drawn on the basis of marks in written exam followed by medical and police verification.

GRSE has announced 58 vacancies, out of which 55 vacancies are of Journeyman in 14 different trades, and 3 vacancies are of Driver (Vehicle). Total number of vacancies may increase/decrease as per requirements.
Online application process will be from October 30, 2026 to November 28, 2026 till 11:59 PM. It is advised to submit applications at an early stage to avoid any congestion in the online portal.
It has a 2 hours long test of 100 questions that is objective in nature and consists of 100 marks, out of which 80 marks are assigned for trade related subjects while 20 marks for general knowledge or aptitude. Following the written test is the qualifying practical test of 50 marks.
