Written Exam Structure for UPESSC PGT Recruitment 2026

• OMR Evaluation: Answer sheet will be machine read, so candidates need to be careful in filling the answer sheet. The OMR sheets may be cancelled in case of incorrect filling of the sheets.
• Scribe Facility: PwD candidates will have the opportunity to use a scribe and extra time as per government orders.
• Admit Card: Admit card will be available on the official website for the candidates to download.
• Exam Centres: It will be held at district headquarters, UP. The Exam Centre cannot be changed once allocated.

Selection Process for UPESSC PGT Recruitment 2026

• The written Examination comprises of 120 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) with 30 questions from General Knowledge and 90 Questions from Specific Subject.
• The written test will be two hours long and will consist of 50 questions, each worth 3 marks with a 1 mark deducted for every wrong answer or if more than one answer is given.
• All candidates are required to complete the OMR sheets in black with a ball point pen and any smudging, whitener use and double marking will result in the response not being evaluated.
• The commission will shortlist candidates giving due consideration to their written exam scores and then call them to attend the Personal Interview. It will notify about the interview dates on its website separately.
• In case there is a tie between overall merit, the marks obtained in the written test are taken into account first, followed by the marks obtained in the interview, followed by post-graduate percentage and then by the B.Ed. percentage. It takes age as the last tiebreaker.
• Candidates who appear in the written test and/or interview are not entitled to any travel allowance and/or daily allowance paid by the commission.
• The commission will advertise the candidates it chooses in schools throughout the state as part of Government Jobs in UP.

• Online Application Form: Two photocopies of online application form.
• High School and Intermediate Certificates: Mark sheets and certificates for both parts.
• Graduation and Postgraduate documents: Mark sheets and Degree Certificates.
• B.Ed. Certificate: Mark sheet and Degree certificate.
• No Objection Certificate: From current employer (Applicable only to those already in service)
• Category Certificate: SC,ST,OBC,EWS or dependent of freedom fighter (if applicable)

• Affidavit: A certified Affidavit showing pending or adjudicated court cases.

Steps to Submit the Application for UPESSC PGT Recruitment 2026

• Navigate to the “Advertisement” section and select the advertisement no. “06/2026“
• Carefully read the user manual and tutorial videos before applying.
• First complete the One Time Registration (OTR) and then complete the actual application form.

• Complete and accurately provide personal, educational and category information; the commission will not accept any corrections after final submission of the paper except during a limited correction period.
• Scan in a signature size between 10KB and 200KB at 140×110 pixels in size.
• Attach a passport-size picture ranging in size from 30Kb to 300Kb and a resolution of 300 to 600 pixels
• Fill up the form completely and then proceed to pay the examination fee using your credit card, debit card or online net banking.
