The Civil Defence & Home Guards Department, Meghalaya has issued Meghalaya Home Guards Recruitment 2026 notification inviting applications for the recruitment of 558 vacancies of Part-Time Guardsman and Equivalent Rank (Volunteer) in the Meghalaya Border Wing Home Guards Battalion. Qualified Home Guards Volunteers who are citizens of India and domicile of Meghalaya can apply in the prescribed Standard Application Form. Last Date for receiving Applications is September 28, 2026. Selected applicants will be deputed in border areas of Khasi, Jaintia and Garo Hills near the border of Bangladesh. About Civil Defence & Home Guards Department, Meghalaya
The Civil Defence & Home Guards Department, Meghalaya assists in civil defence activities, public safety, emergencies and other security functions for the state. This department also has trained volunteers of Home Guards who help the government organizations during their assignments. Through the Meghalaya Border Wing Home Guards Battalion, trained volunteers may be employed in border areas of the state for assisting in the security functions in the areas of the bordering Bangladesh. The Department functions through offices of District Home Guards, District Training Centres and Civil Defence Offices in Meghalaya.
