Recruitment Procedure for CJH Tihar Recruitment 2026
- All eligible candidates have to register themselves at Conference Hall, Prison Head Quarter from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. After 11:00 AM, none will be allowed by the authorities.
- The department will have their Senior Resident interviews on Nov 2, 2026 and they will have their Junior Resident interviews on Nov 3, 2026.
- The interview panel will evaluate the performance of each candidate and make the selection decision.
- The department will work with experts for 44 days or the CRC (including the MAMC Dean) shall complete this selection process at the earliest.
- In case of non-conclusion of either regular or contractual recruitment process, the department may extend appointments for 44 days repeatedly for a period of 3 years in case of Senior Residents and 1 year in case of Junior Residents.
- The hospital will stop conducting on-the-spot appointments, beginning with the doctor who received the worst performance in the interview, upon recruitment of a doctor via the usual channels of recruitment.
- Doctors found through normal recruitment or contractual recruitment may also be deployed for Tihar Jail, Rohini Jail, Mandoli Jail or Lampur Detention Centre. The candidates have to report within seven days of getting the offer letter, hence becoming an effective option among Government Jobs in Delhi.

- OBC Certificate: Delhi OBC aspirants with legitimate 2026-2027 Non-Creamy Layer certificate alone are eligible for relaxation.

FAQs
Eligible candidates are those who have registration with the Delhi Medical Council. The posts of senior residents will need an MD/MS/DNB or Diplomate in the relevant specialty or experience in the absence of candidates with above qualifications. The junior residents will require MBBS with one-year internship to be completed from October 29, 2024. The maximum age limit for senior residents is 45 years and for junior residents it is 30 years.
There are total 20 vacant positions. Out of which, there are 7 posts of senior residents in the fields of medicine, orthopedics, psychiatry, ophthalmology and pathology while there are 13 posts for junior residents. The date of interview for senior residents will be November 2, 2026 and for junior residents it will be November 3, 2026.
Remuneration would be in the range of Rs. 67,700/- to Rs. 2,08,700/- per month with allowances as applicable under the residency scheme. Initially, the engagement period shall be 44 days or until selection. The period may be extended for 44 days each up to a period of three years. For Junior Residents, the remuneration shall be in the range of Rs. 56,100/- to Rs. 1,77,500/- for one year.
No fee is required to attend the interview and no travelling allowance would be paid either.
